Vijay Thadani, a distinguished alumnus of India's premier engineering school IIT, Delhi, co-founded NIIT along with Rajendra Pawar in 1981. As the CEO of NIIT and its subsidiaries worldwide and Chairman of NIIT USA Inc., Vijay has spearheaded NIIT's globalisation efforts, led NIIT's IPO in 1993 and built strategic alliances. Arvind Thakur, Chief Executive Officer, NIIT Technologies is responsible for spearheading the organization and raising its delivery capabilities to world-class standards. Under his stewardship, NIIT Technologies Limited has been assessed at global standards of development. It has bagged an ISO 9001:2000 certification, been assessed at Level 5 of both the SEI-CMMi and People-CMM frameworks and got the BS 7799 information security management certification. He has been a part of the core team since the early years of NIIT's inception, handling both the software and key organizational functions at NIIT. Surendra Singh, a retired IAS Officer, has held very senior positions in the Central and State Governments. Starting his Public Service in 1959, Mr Singh has been Special Secretary to Prime Minister of India, responsible for all the economic work in PM's Office, Cabinet Secretary to the Government of India, Secretary to the Council of Ministers and Secretary, Ministry of Industry. He was an Executive Director on the board of the World Bank, representing India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Also, he was director on the Boards of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA).
